Wreath Laying Ceremony at
Seafarers’ Memorial

IMF Council Members paid homage to Indian Seafarers during the Annual Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Seafarers’ Memorial at 0900 hrs on the 30th of January 2022. The Seafarers’ Memorial was built by the IMF in 1998 and is dedicated to all Indian Seafarers – naval, merchant naval, fishermen and others, who have lost their lives at sea in the service to our nation. It also symbolizes our pride in the bounteous oceans washing India’s shores, and in all those who go to sea. The memorial is located at the junction of Gen Vaidya Marg and Ashoka Marg, near the Tribal Museum and the Circuit House.

The wreath – laying ceremony commenced with the reciting of the naval prayer. A wreath was then laid by Capt Anand Dixit, President of IMF, followed by one minute silence. Other Council Members present were Capt R Hajarnavis, Cmde A Chitnis, Capt Sudhir Subhedar, Cmde PK Malhotra, RAdm RJ Nadkarni, Cdr Mukund Yeolekar and Cdr Anand Kulkarni.
