Remembrance Day 2014

The Remembrance Day function was conducted by the IMF at the Seaman’s War Memorial, Bund Garden, on 9th November 2014. The Remembrance Day function was the first time that Admiral JG Nadkarni (Retd) former CNS and his son Rear Admiral RJ Nadkarni were seen together. Rear Admiral Nadkarni laid a wreath on behalf of the Indian Navy. Also present at the function was Capt TEM Rosario, the oldest Member of the Merchant Navy. He is 96 years old and laid a wreath on behalf of the Merchant Navy. Capt S Krishnamurthy (Krish), Immediate Past President of the Nautical Institute, London was the Chief Guest. Cmde Rajan Vir, Founder President of the Indian Maritime Foundation delivered the Welcome Address and laid a wreath on behalf of the IMF. Cmde Ajay Chitnis SC, NM (Retd), Vice President IMF Mumbai Branch, was the Master of Ceremonies.
