Coastal Clean Up – 2015

This year’s cleanup conducted from Sep-Nov 2015 marked the 30th Anniversary of the ICC. As a Member of both ICC and the Indian Maritime Foundation (IMF), this year’s programme was sponsored by RCPC, inspired by Commodore Rajan Vir, President IMF, Pune to help not only marine ecology but also the amazing number of lakes, ponds and streams that need our attention.

A number of organizations, schools, NGOs took part in this noble cause; India North starting from Karnataka to Odisha and India South from Tamil Nadu to Andhra Pradesh and the Andaman Islands. Over 2000 volunteers, including school children, all over North India, participated in this activity in 2015.

In essence, this was an initiative of ICC. You will be proud to know that India was placed 7th in the WORLD in 2013. The efforts were conducted with enthusiasm and dedication by all participants, as can be seen from the statistics in the table below, and were recognised by forwarding copies of the Certificate issued by Ocean Conservancy, Washington DC.
