IMF Hosts the Crew of INSV Tarini

On the 24th of July, the Indian Maritime Foundation was honoured to host the brave ladies who completed the Circumnavigation of the Globe in INSV Tarini. Led by the Skipper, Lt Cdr Vartika Joshi, NM, the intrepid sailors spent an evening with us at the Royal Connaught Boat Club, Pune. The IMF had organised a lecture -cum-presentation for the benefit of the members of IMF and the Navy Foundation Pune. It was a fascinating experience to listen to the account of the circumnavigation along with all the adventures faced enroute. The way they handled the navigation, how they weathered the storm, and dealt with a serious emergency with their steering system was remarkable. They were pounded with questions from the audience, and the response was very positive. Overall a wonderful experience for all present. IMF is grateful to NHQ for permitting us to host this event, and to the ladies who made it memorable.
