SIMA Exhibition of Paintings at Balgandharva Kala Dalan
An Exhibition of Paintings was held by the Society of Marine Artists at the Balgandharva Kala Dalan from 1-3 Dec 2024. The Exhibition was inaugurated by ADG Vijay Chafekar (Retd), former Coast Guard Commander, Western Region who lit the traditional lamp along with other dignitaries like Capt Anand Dixit, President IMF, Mr Shailesh Sonawane and Mr Bikash AIch, SIMA Secretary. During his inaugural address, the Chief Guest spoke about art being a window into the past and illustrated his point with several historical examples. Following his talk the Chief Guest went around the Exhibition Hall and appreciated the paintings on display. Subsequently, there were Painting Demos by artists Shri Shailesh Sonawane, Mr Rajesh Joshi and Capt Prafull Hudekar.
A number of visitors came to see the exhibition and enjoyed the beautiful and creative paintings on display, which were not restricted to marine art only. Some photos are placed below.
